Salem Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Garden

Working directly with Salem Health’s inpatient rehabilitation team, 2.ink Studio designed a therapy courtyard to help patients achieve a maximum level of independence during their stay.

The courtyard includes a variety of sloped walks, stairs, railings, landings and diverse ground surfaces to allow patients to practice regaining both large and small motor skills in a protected environment. All courtyard features were designed to allow Salem Health’s physical therapy teams to prescribe therapy regimes resulting in clear measurable therapeutic outcomes.

Courtyard seating, an outdoor glass pavilion and quiet water feature combine with ornamental planting to also provide a calm respite for both patients and their families.
