EBO

Designed for a young couple with two children, this private garden south of Portland sits above Lake Oswego and creates a connection between their house and the lake sitting over 75-feet below. Connecting the two is a series of stair and boardwalks that create a circuitous garden pathway that turns the vertical stair into a woodland walk with distinct experiences along the way. The upper garden creates new outdoor dining, cooking and entertaining spaces. A hardwood seating wall creates a distinct edge to the patio helping to knit the spaces together and leading visitors to the deck with its views to the lake below. As an avid gardener, the client asked for a wide variety of ornamental planting as well as a potting shed and experimental garden area.
